After a break from seeing Little Egrets on Meon Shore, this bird was getting a real blast from the wind on the coast.

At the beach

Lots of birds about at Titchfield Haven and Meon Shore today I was able to also enjoy a very low tide and due to bridge repairs on Cliff Road, the road was closed to through traffic making it quieter than usual.

The Sanderlings were very active as the tide was low and were feeding all along the shoreline. They do not breed in the UK but are a winter visitor and passage migrant in spring and autumn. I expect that soon they will be leaving for their breeding grounds in the high Arctic and once gone I will await their return in autumn after such a long journey for this tiny bird.

Some of the Starfish I saw yesterday did not survive and became lunch for this Great Black-backed Gull.

There are a number of Mute Swans about and they are starting to pair up.

Sadly this Swan, as well as the Sanderlings, were disturbed and chased off by an out of control dog something which is becoming more common.
